Shirlie is known for the healing, soothing and uplifting quality of her three-octave voice.
From an early age, she discovered her voice could release emotions in the listener, and audiences come to her concerts to relax, to lift their spirits, to be inspired, sometimes simply to let go and cry, or even to laugh at her comedic side.
She performs a wide variety of material, but has an innate ability to make any song her own. So regardless of whether you are listening to her songs or a performance of traditional music, the healing quality rings through and touches the heart.
Concerts can reflect a variety of moods.

Shirlie's Music
Shirlie's Music is a repertoire of melodic self-penned songs with positive lyrics about the inner self and environmental awareness. It ranges from relaxing, moving and haunting to uptempo and uplifting and can be performed with acoustic guitar and piano, or with backing tracks and PA system in larger venues.
Traditional Music
Shirlie’s Welsh and Irish family roots are echoed in the celtic lilt of her summer concerts where she and Slovene flute virtuoso Alenka Zupan perform a repertoire of Welsh, Irish, Scots, English and Slovene folk songs in baroque castles and churches around Slovenia – a purely acoustic event called ‘Angel Sounds’.
Christmas Music
Christmas concerts take place in beautiful churches around Slovenia and are again acoustic events, a blend of English and Slovene carols with flautist Alenka Zupan and can be in a variety of settings.
From full-sized theatres, to old castles and wonderful acoustic churches, to schools audiences, homes for the mentally and physically disabled, hospitals, and natural earth venues such as forests, lakes, caves and karst craters. Shirlie has performed in them all!
