Shirlie’s latest project, the book and cd Simply Slovenia/Preprosto Slovenija is a creative co-operation between England and Slovenia, with top Slovene photographer Bogdan Kladnik’s beautiful photography, Shirlie’s written reflections on her sixteen years’ journey through Slovenia, plus a cd of her Slovene-inspired songs including some new pieces specially arranged and produced by Slovenia’s brilliant Tomaz Kozlevcar.     
Simply Slovenia/Preprosto Slovenija for Shirlie has been a culmination of years of travelling between two countries and two cultures, but feeling completely at home in both. Her experience of the Slovene heart and soul has translated into numerous songs expressing her adventures during that time, from a Green Dragon on a Ljubljana bridge to a cradle in an old Karst house, a mountain top panorama and a magnificent waterfall deep in the country. All of her thoughts and musical images are mirrored in Bogdan Kladnik’s unique photography to combine into what has been called one of the best books on Slovenija for the past ten years.

This cd is a compilation of tracks from the Vanishing Lake cd plus five new pieces from Shirlie recorded and produced by Tomaz Kozlevcar in Ljubljana.
